This remote position is in Oregon.

Position Overview:

The Territory Sales Manager will partner in an assigned territory and represents Grange Insurance Association (GIA) in our relationship with our independent agency partners. This team member owns and manages the overall agency relationships within their territory and is responsible for creating and implementing a strategy to accomplish the growth goals for the assigned territory.


Some of your key responsibilities will be:

Agency Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with independent insurance agencies, providing support, guidance, and resources to help them grow their business.


Marketing Strategy Implementation: Create and execute marketing plans and campaigns to promote insurance products and services, including digital marketing, advertising, and event planning.


Sales Support and Training: Provide training and support to agency staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and marketing strategies to enhance their performance and effectiveness.


Market Analysis and Reporting: Analyze market trends, competition, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Report findings and make recommendations to senior management.


Problem Resolution: Act as a liaison between the insurance company and the agencies to resolve any issues or challenges, ensuring smooth operations and strong partnerships.


Things we are looking for in a new team member:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Management, or closely related field and at least two years of experience in relevant aspects of Independent Agency Relationship Management (experience may substitute for education).
  • At least four years of experience in the P&C insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical selling skills and product knowledge in personal lines and farm products, underwriting guidelines, and regulations
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal daily supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others and promote teamwork
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel and presentation skills
  • Insurance professional certification (e.g., CPCU or CIC)

PREFERRED:

  • Advanced knowledge of standard industry personal lines, commercial and farm insurance lines of business and common practices.
  • Related professional certifications preferred.
