Job description

The Insurance Service Representative will manage phone call traffic, process policy endorsements, and handle various client account services, including issuing certificates of insurance and managing billing. This position will oversee document flow in the agency management system, update member information, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Additionally, will engage with members to understand their needs and educate them about credit union services.

What youโ€™ll be doing:

  • Engaging members by recognizing needs and educating them on appropriate credit union services
  • Managing flow of phone calls into the agency and assign to the appropriate staff as needed
  • Processing policy endorsements by tracking and completing activities within the agency management system
  • Provide ongoing servicing of client accounts such as issue certificates of insurance and the processing of various items (i.e. policy changes, payments, and billing, issuing ID cards, declarations, and binders as needed, etc.)
  • Managing the flow of documents in and out of the agency management system including any company correspondences, new and cancelled policies, and insurance agency email inbox
  • Updating appropriate information in Dupacoโ€™s member management system as needed
  • Maintaining compliance with all relevant statutory and industry requirements and codes
  • Processing address changes and associated endorsements in conjunction with credit union workflow
  • Processing endorsements as requested and determine charges for policy changes, collect deposits or payments, and/or arrange for billing
  • Taking first loss notices from members and file claims with carriers and ensure appropriate documentation within the agency management system
  • Serving as back up for assisting with sales overflow and walk in clients
  • Serving as back up for maintaining and tracking any necessary agency production reports
  • Performing other duties as assigned

What youโ€™ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some experience in a service industry
  • Personal and Casualty License, preferred or ability to obtain
  • Ability to acquire and maintain necessary insurance licenses including continuing education credits
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to represent the financial institution in a positive and professional way when dealing with membership, vendors, and other staff members
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and an aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
