Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support continuous improvement and production optimization initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience in process analysis, Lean manufacturing tools, time studies, and production system improvement. The intern will work closely with the engineering and operations teams to identify inefficiencies, analyze workflows, support standardization efforts, and contribute to data-driven decision-making for productivity and quality improvements.


Key Responsibilities


Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing Support

  • Learn and apply basic Continuous Improvement (CI) techniques to identify process inefficiencies.
  • Develop and analyze spaghetti diagrams to evaluate material and operator movement.
  • Conduct visual observations of production processes to identify waste (muda) and improvement opportunities.
  • Support and participate in SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) methodology activities to reduce setup and changeover times.
  • Assist in the development and execution of questionnaires and operator interviews to gather process insights from the shop floor.
  • Conduct time studies, line balancing, RHEO implementation, and updating process documentation.
