Job Purpose
Opportunity to develop your Accounting skills by supporting the Herc Rentals accounting and finance teams. Participate in various projects in the accounting close and reporting cycle by assisting in the preparation of journal entries, process refinement, internal control documentation, system implementations, and other finance related initiatives.
What you will do...
  • Learn about the company's accounting cycle, including balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, internal controls, and financial analysis
  • Learn about other accounting and finance functions including: General Ledger Accounting, Order to Cash, External Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax, Internal Audit, Finance Business Partners, and Treasury
  • Prepares internal reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from other systems
  • Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information
  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and reconciling accounts
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Understands and maintains Sarbanes Oxley internal control compliance
  • Understands financial reporting requirements
  • Project work as assigned

Requirements
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or Finance with an Accounting focus
  • Currently enrolled in at a university with a minimum GPA of 2.5/3.0 in major
  • Completed a minimum of 9 credit hours in Accounting major coursework or similar.
  • Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
