Job description

Job Title: Affordable Housing Pipeline Coordinator
Reports to: Associate Director of Policy & Research
Job Type: Full-Time / Non-Exempt
Location: Palm Desert, CA
Compensation: $65-72K + benefits
Primary Function: The Affordable Housing Pipeline Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Collective Impact team and key organizational partners to track the progress of planned affordable housing developments in Riverside County and identify opportunities to add to the ongoing pipeline of affordable housing projects in the region.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Affordable Housing Pipeline Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:
  • Collect, organize, and update of data on projects in the pipeline including information on site location, number of units, percentage of affordable units, target populations, funding sources, developer information, development costs, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with staff from relevant departments of all cities within Riverside County and within the County office, as well as affordable housing developers, to facilitate information sharing around projects in the pipeline and to identify new opportunities for affordable housing development.
  • Conduct updates and quality control on the Affordable Housing Pipeline Portal, an interactive, online, public-facing GIS mapping tool that spatially visualizes and tracks the progress of affordable housing in the region.
  • Conduct field work including site visits to vacant or underutilized parcels and sites under construction to collect "groundtruth" data and appearing at public meetings including city council and planning commission meetings.
  • Attend and participate in monthly Housing Collaborative Action Network (CAN) meetings and co-facilitate the Housing CAN's Pipeline Workgroup meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel required.
  • Housing, community development, and/or land use planning experience preferred
  • Background working in diverse communities including rural and urban areas
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a diverse set of cross-sector stakeholders and partners
  • Strong organizational capabilities with experience working collaboratively on projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated proactive problem-solving capability

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree required in related field
  • Expertise and demonstrated experience using GIS mapping software, including ESRI ArcMAP and ArcGIS Online
  • Able to travel throughout Riverside County as needed for site visits, as needed
  • Experience working in and/or with communities of color
  • A passion and authentic commitment to justice and equity for people of all ethnicities, races, ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, economic circumstances, physical and mental abilities and characteristics, and philosophies
  • Genuine commitment to resident and community issues in Riverside County, as well as the vision, mission, and values of Lift to Rise

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Able to frequently walk, sit, and perform other job duties in both indoor and outdoor environments Able to occasionally stand for long periods of time
  • Visual acuity to operate computer and laptop for extended periods of time
  • Able to occasionally lift up to 30-40 pounds without assistance
