We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our legal team in a hybrid capacity. This role involves managing a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including personal injury, general liability, premises liability, and construction defect claims. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional litigation and case management skills, and a strong understanding of California civil procedure.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a full caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials (virtually or in person, as needed)
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop case strategies
  • Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
  • Negotiate settlements and provide recommendations for case resolution
  • Maintain accurate case records and billing in accordance with firm/client guidelines

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
  • 3+ years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
