The Commercial Processor provides entry-level support to the Commercial Underwriting unit by assisting with policy-related processing tasks and learning departmental workflows. This role focuses on developing foundational knowledge, accuracy, and proficiency while working under close supervision and following established procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop proficiency in a variety of Commercial tasks - including data entry, property rating, policy issuance, renewal endorsements, and cancellations.
  • Responsible for pre-qualifying new business applications and renewal information for analysis and quote handling by the underwriter.
  • Support the Underwriting unit in loss control tasks and compliance follow-up, outstanding file documentation, and other general underwriting tasks.
  • Enter financial and policy/rating data into rating software platform.
  • Respond to and conduct regular follow-ups with agents/underwriters/accounting/premium finance companies for additional underwriting and billing information, applications, and various payment resolutions.
  • Participate in process improvement discussions. Interact with Systems and other departments in the process of testing Commercial product changes and/or enhancements under guidance of management.
  • Run basic business analytics reports and other various operational status reports for department management.
