About Our Client:
Addison Group is hiring on behalf of our client, a well-established litigation-focused law firm in Scottsdale. The firm offers a collaborative, personable environment where legal professionals have the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of responsibilities rather than working within highly segmented departments. This is a busy but supportive office where employees work closely with attorneys and have the opportunity to develop a broad range of legal administrative skills.
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Admin Assistant to provide administrative and litigation support to a small team of attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong law firm experience, familiarity with litigation procedures and court filings, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role is fully onsite and offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys while developing a broad understanding of legal operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to approximately 2-3 attorneys.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain litigation-related documents, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal materials.
  • Complete electronic filings with state and federal courts while following applicable court requirements and procedures.
  • Monitor calendars, deadlines, court dates, meetings, and other time-sensitive matters.
  • Coordinate meetings and maintain organized communication with attorneys, clients, vendors, and other parties.
  • Manage and organize electronic documents using document management systems.
  • Assist with legal correspondence, document preparation, and other written materials.
  • Provide support with basic settlement and accounting-related tasks, including calculating fees and distributing funds. Training will be provided.
  • Proactively manage daily priorities and follow through on time-sensitive requests.
  • Support attorneys and the broader legal team as needed in a busy office environment.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of legal experience within a law firm; 5+ years is preferred.
  • Experience supporting litigation matters and familiarity with litigation procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and submitting electronic filings in state and federal courts.
  • Knowledge of court rules, filing requirements, and litigation deadlines.
  • Experience working with litigation documents, pleadings, and docketing-related responsibilities.
  • Multi-state litigation experience is preferred, particularly experience involving California matters.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Law Toolbox or similar calendaring/deadline management platforms.
  • Familiarity with NetDocuments, Centerbase, or comparable legal technology platforms is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred, though equivalent legal experience may be considered.

Additional Details:
  • Direct-hire, permanent opportunity
  • Immediate opening
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • 100% onsite; this is not a hybrid position
  • Supports approximately 2-3 attorneys and works closely with the firm's administrative leadership
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-volume environment where priorities may shift throughout the day.
  • The position requires someone who is proactive, dependable, resourceful, and comfortable taking initiative.
  • The ideal candidate is interested in building a long-term career as a legal administrative professional.
  • Training will be provided for settlement-related accounting responsibilities.
  • Annual merit review following the employee's first full year of employment.
  • Interview process includes an initial interview followed by a second round with attorneys.

Perks:
  • Personalized, collaborative work environment
  • Opportunity to gain exposure to a wide variety of legal and administrative responsibilities
  • Work directly with attorneys rather than supporting a large group of attorneys
  • Supportive team with a low-ego, approachable culture
  • Consistent Monday-Friday schedule with employees expected to leave on time
  • Opportunity to become a versatile legal professional with exposure across multiple areas of the firm
