Position: Pharmacy Assistant Instructor

  • Job Type: Part-time

  • Shift Type: On-campus instruction

  • Location: CDI College, Downtown Calgary Campus

  • Expected Start Date: As soon as possible / To be determined

  • Hourly Wage: $27.00 - $30.00/hr


Your Day to Day

Specifically, the Instructor will be responsible for:

Teaching and Curriculum Delivery
  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in the Pharmacy Assistant program curriculum.

  • Plan, prepare, and implement lesson plans that meet the learning objectives of the course.

  • Use diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including lectures, group discussions, and hands-on laboratory activities.

Student Support and Development
  • Provide academic support to students, including tutoring, mentoring, and guidance.

  • Monitor and evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and practical participation.

  • Offer constructive feedback to help students improve their knowledge and clinical skills.

Curriculum and Program Development
  • Contribute to the development and updating of course materials to ensure relevance to current industry standards.

  • Align program content with current trends, regulations, and needs in the pharmacy and healthcare sector.

  • Participate in program reviews and make recommendations for improvements.

Administration and Compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and overall performance.

  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and provincial regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to institutional goals.

Industry Engagement and Professional Development
  • Establish and maintain connections with local pharmacies and healthcare partners to facilitate student placements or program improvement.

  • Stay updated on developments in the pharmacy practice field to bring current, real-world knowledge into the classroom.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.

  • Assist in student recruitment and retention efforts as needed.

  • Support the coordination of field practicums or clinical internships for students.

  • Address student concerns and mediate conflicts when necessary.


What You Bring to the Table
  • Degree, diploma, or certification as a Pharmacy Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacist from a recognized institution.

  • Three or more years of professional experience in a pharmacy setting.

  • A minimum of 1 year of instructional experience, or a commitment to hold/earn a certificate in adult learning.
