As an Instructor Assistant in Early Childhood, you support the lead instructor in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. You play a vital role in shaping early developmental experiences, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and engaged. This position contributes directly to the foundational growth of our youngest learners, impacting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development daily. You help foster a positive atmosphere where children thrive and discover the joy of learning.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the lead instructor in implementing daily educational programs and activities, aligning with Early Childhood Education best practices.
- Supports individual and group Child Development through observation, interaction, and tailored guidance.
- Maintains an organized and positive learning environment, actively participating in Classroom Management strategies.
- Provides direct Childcare and supervision, ensuring the well-being and safety of all children.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with children, parents, and staff, demonstrating strong Communication Skills.
- Offers essential Lesson Planning Support by preparing materials, setting up activities, and assisting with transitions.
- Demonstrates exceptional Patience and understanding when interacting with children, especially during challenging moments.
- Adheres strictly to all established Safety Procedures, conducting regular checks and responding promptly to concerns.
- Implements positive Behavior Management techniques, guiding children to develop self-regulation and social skills.
- Collaborates on Activity Planning, suggesting creative and engaging ideas that support learning objectives.
- Supervises children during indoor and outdoor play, meal times, and rest periods.
- Helps maintain a clean, safe, and healthy classroom environment.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completes or is currently enrolled in coursework related to Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
Experience
- Possesses at least one year of experience working in a childcare or early childhood education setting.
- Demonstrates experience assisting with classroom activities and child supervision.
Knowledge/Skills
- Applies foundational knowledge of Early Childhood Education principles and practices.
- Understands key stages and theories of Child Development.
- Utilizes effective Classroom Management techniques to support a positive learning environment.
- Provides attentive and nurturing Childcare.
- Exhibits excellent verbal and written Communication Skills.
- Offers practical Lesson Planning Support and preparation.
- Displays consistent Patience and empathy in all interactions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Holds an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Possesses relevant certifications, such as CPR and First Aid for children.
- Has experience working with diverse groups of children and families.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
- Lifts and carries children weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Bends, stoops, kneels, and sits on the floor frequently throughout the day.
- Stands and walks for extended periods.
- Works in an environment with moderate noise levels and frequent activity.
- Responds quickly to emergent situations involving children.
