What is an inside sales agent?

An Inside Sales Agent (ISA) is a sales professional who conducts sales activities from within an office or remotely, rather than meeting clients in person. Their primary responsibilities include making outbound calls, responding to inbound inquiries, qualifying leads, and setting appointments or closing sales over the phone or via digital communication. Inside Sales Agents are common in industries like real estate, technology, and business services, where much of the sales process can be handled without face-to-face meetings. They play a key role in generating revenue by nurturing prospects and maintaining customer relationships.

What does an inside sales agent do?

An inside sales agent works with a company to manage prospective buyer leads and generate business for the company. Your responsibilities as an inside sales agent focus on contacting customer leads with a follow-up phone call after they fill out a form inquiring about more information on a product or service. You also take inbound phone calls to answer questions about a product or service. Your duties also include setting appointments with leads, keeping in contact with customers to stay updated about their buying decision, and maintaining a relationship with your customer base after they buy. You commonly find these positions in the real estate industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an inside sales agent, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Inside Sales Agent, you need strong communication, persuasive selling skills, and a solid understanding of the products or services offered, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, phone systems, and sales tracking tools is typically required. Exceptional listening, resilience, and time management abilities help agents build rapport and handle rejection effectively. These competencies are crucial for driving sales performance, maintaining client relationships, and achieving targets in a competitive environment.

How does an inside sales agent typically collaborate with other departments to achieve sales targets?

Inside Sales Agents work closely with marketing teams to follow up on leads generated through campaigns, and often coordinate with field sales representatives to ensure a seamless handoff of qualified prospects. They also communicate regularly with customer support and product teams to stay updated on product offerings and address client inquiries effectively. This collaborative environment helps Inside Sales Agents provide accurate information to clients and contribute to overall sales goals.

Real Estate Inside Sales Agent - Growth

Plot Property Group

Las Vegas, NV โ€ข On-site

Job description

Description
We're a high-volume real estate investment company in Las Vegas, closing around 100 deals a year, and we're looking for a Lead Manager to be the heartbeat of our pipeline. This is a relationship-first role: you'll be the first point of contact for our leads and agent relationships, building trust, nurturing every opportunity, and making sure no lead ever goes cold.
You won't be closing deals - you'll be the reason our closers have warm, qualified deals to close. You'll work leads through our CRM with relentless, organized follow-up across phone, text, and email, qualify them against our criteria, and hand off deal-ready opportunities to the acquisitions team at exactly the right moment.
The right person genuinely loves people, stays disciplined with follow-up when others give up, and cares about our mission of helping homeowners sell their homes as-is. You're warm but persistent, organized to the core, and motivated by hitting your numbers. If you can build a relationship and never let a lead slip through the cracks, this is your seat.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Work inbound and outbound leads through our CRM (Left Main REI) with timely, consistent follow-up
โ€ข Build and maintain genuine relationships with sellers and agents across our database
โ€ข Manage multi-channel follow-up cadences across phone, SMS (Smarter Contact), and email (Instantly)
โ€ข Qualify leads against deal criteria and hand off deal-ready opportunities to the closers/acquisitions team
โ€ข Keep CRM data clean and current - log every touch, update lead status, and track next steps
โ€ข Re-engage aged and dormant leads through long-term nurture campaigns
โ€ข Hit daily and weekly activity and conversion targets (calls, texts, follow-ups, qualified handoffs)
โ€ข Represent our brand and values as the warm, trustworthy first voice leads hear
Qualifications
โ€ข Strong communication and relationship-building skills; comfortable on the phone all day
โ€ข Inside sales, ISA, lead management, appointment-setting, or customer service experience is a plus
โ€ข Exceptional organization and disciplined follow-up - you never let a lead go cold
โ€ข CRM proficiency and comfort with outreach tools (Left Main REI, Smarter Contact, or similar a plus)
โ€ข Self-motivated and energized by hitting activity and conversion goals
โ€ข Coachable, resilient, and handles rejection without losing momentum
โ€ข High integrity and genuine care for sellers in difficult situations
โ€ข Real estate, wholesale, or investment experience a plus
