IT Technician Job Description

We are looking for technically skilled candidates with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT technician. The duties of an IT technician include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.  The right candidate will repair existing or confiture new PC's, laptops, iPhones, iPads, other similar electronic devices such as biometric clocking machines.  Knowledge on building new servers, VOIP phone systems and setup, knowledge of Micrsoft Office suite and setup.

IT technicians are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels. They are required to listen to their technical needs, understand their problems, and implement solutions to them.

IT Technician Responsibilities:

  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues (PC's, iPads, iPhones, VOIP phones
  • Ensuring electrical safety standards are met.
  • Repairing or replacing damaged hardware and upgrading or updating hardware as needed.
  • Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers.
  • Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
  • Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
  • Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
  • Conducting daily backup operations.

IT Technician Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in database programming and software installation.
  • Attention to detail.

Right candidate may work remotely and come to campus sites for meetings and as needed. Weekly hours may likely be 10-20hrs/wk.

Company Description

We are a Montessori agency that provides Infant through Kindergarten educational and child care services to children and families through the Montessori method of teaching in the San Gabriel Valley since 1982. We have preschool sites in Pomona, Hacienda Heights, Azusa, Baldwin Park and El Monte. We are also hiring for new sites being developed in greater Los Angeles areas, Compton and Van Nuys. We provide private (fee-paying) and subsidized programs funded by the Department of Education/Child Development Division via State Preschool. We have a combined government grant which offers subsidized preschool program services to families in the communities we serve that qualify for the program. This funding required Title V regulations to be followed when enrolling families. Our preschool program follows the Montessori Philosophy and Reggio approach to education which offers classrooms that are rich in diversity, materials and experiences.
