Overview

Boca Recovery Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) to support and assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing our medical services within a behavioral healthcare setting. This role will play a key part in ensuring the highest standards of care, regulatory compliance, and infection control. The ideal candidate has strong leadership abilities, experience in residential detox, and the skills to help manage and mentor a dynamic nursing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in managing and coordinating all medical care for clients according to best practices and agency standards.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CMAs, CNAs).
  • Serve as the back-up Infection Control Designee, supporting surveillance, reporting, and staff education.
  • Monitor clinical documentation to ensure it meets state, federal, and insurance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Clinical Director, and other leaders to maintain integrated, client-centered care.
  • Participate in team meetings, quality assurance reviews, and compliance audits to meet Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
  • Assist in managing relationships with external service providers, such as pharmacy and dietary services.
  • Serve as a resource for staff on patient care, clinical protocols, and emergency procedures.

Requirements

Education: RN degree from an accredited nursing program.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in a nursing leadership or supervisory role; residential detox experience required.
Licensure: Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
Knowledge of: ASAM criteria, The Joint Commission, DEA, and SAMHSA OTP regulations.

  • Proven ability to supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary clinical team.
  • Skilled in balancing clinical and administrative priorities.
