Job description

Scope of Work and Services
Support NAF’s programs through the following activities:
  • Identifies and prepares monthly journal entries.
  • Reconciles monthly general ledger accounts.
  • Reconciles monthly credit card statements.
  • Processes Accounts Payable (A/P) via third party processor.
  • Processes Accounts Receivable (A/R) via QBO.
  • Record cash receipts from external lockbox and online CC receipts.
  • Prepares and transmits semi-monthly payroll and serves as a liaison for payroll processing.
  • Processes employee expense reimbursements.
  • Handles correspondence concerning accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, credit card processing, and other financial transactions.
  • Maintains accounting files.
  • Provides additional administrative and accounting related support.
Preferred Skills and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in non-profit accounting in a high-volume account payable, and cash receipts environment.
  • Experience utilizing QBO required
  • Experience utilizing third party vendors required (Beanworks, Bill.com, Vantiv preferred)
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll (Paycor preferred).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Detail oriented accounting professional with excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills and demonstrated accuracy in data entry and processing.
  • Tact and ability to exercise discretion and judgement and always maintain strict confidentiality regarding all personnel and organizational matters.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively within a fast-paced team environment and virtually.
Consulting Hours and Fee Schedule
  • Hourly Rate $35-$40 per hour
  • Up to 30 hours per week
  • Contract Assignment Duration: 3-5 months
  • Temporary Consultant Role (1099 Independent Contractor), not benefits eligible.
