Inbound Sales Executive information

What is an inbound sales executive?

Inbound Sales Executives are professionals responsible for handling incoming sales inquiries from potential customers. They engage with leads who have shown interest in a company's products or services, answer questions, provide information, and guide them through the purchasing process. Their main goal is to convert these inbound leads into customers by understanding their needs and offering suitable solutions. Unlike outbound sales roles, inbound sales focus on responding to interested prospects rather than initiating contact.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an inbound sales executive?

To thrive as an Inbound Sales Executive, you need strong communication, persuasion, and active listening skills, often supported by a background in sales or customer service. Familiarity with CRM software, sales tracking tools, and sometimes product-specific certifications are typically required. Resilience, adaptability, and relationship-building abilities are crucial soft skills that set top performers apart. These competencies enable Inbound Sales Executives to effectively convert leads, build customer trust, and meet sales targets in a competitive environment.

How does an inbound sales executive typically collaborate with the marketing and customer support teams?

As an Inbound Sales Executive, you’ll work closely with the marketing team to ensure that leads generated from campaigns are properly qualified and nurtured through the sales funnel. Additionally, you’ll often coordinate with the customer support team to address client concerns, gather product feedback, and ensure a seamless handoff after closing sales. This cross-functional collaboration helps improve the customer experience and supports your success in meeting sales goals.

Job description

About SalesAi
At SalesAi, we are revolutionizing the world of sales and customer service with cutting-edge AI-driven technology. Our platform empowers businesses to seamlessly integrate AI tools into their sales workflows and customer support processes, driving efficiency and smarter operations. As a rapidly growing SaaS company at the forefront of AI innovation, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance, data protection, and ethical business practices.
At SalesAi, we are building a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We offer a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact. We value integrity, creativity, and a passion for solving complex challenges. If you're looking for an opportunity to work with a team that thrives on collaboration and innovation, we'd love to hear from you.
Account Executive
SalesAi is building the next generation of AI-powered sales and customer engagement.
Our platform helps businesses use AI-powered voice and SMS conversations to engage leads and customers, respond faster, create more opportunities, and scale without simply adding more people.
We're looking for an Account Executive who wants to do more than follow an established sales playbook. You'll have structure, coaching, and support, but you'll also be joining a fast-moving company where our product, market, and sales motion continue to evolve.
The right person will learn quickly, execute consistently, contribute ideas, and help us build a world-class revenue engine.
Most importantly, you want to win.
What You'll Own
As an Account Executive at SalesAi, you'll own the sales process from opportunity creation through close.
That includes:
  • Building and managing pipeline through inbound opportunities, outbound prospecting, referrals, partnerships, and other revenue channels.
  • Leading strong discovery conversations to understand a prospect's business, goals, challenges, current processes, buying criteria, and opportunities for measurable impact.
  • Demonstrating SalesAi in the context of the prospect's business rather than simply walking through product features.
  • Translating AI capabilities into clear business outcomes and compelling reasons to change.
  • Developing business cases and guiding prospects through evaluation, pricing, contracting, and close.
  • Running effective follow-up and maintaining momentum throughout the sales process.
  • Maintaining accurate activity, opportunity, next-step, pipeline, and forecast information in HubSpot.
  • Consistently achieving expectations for pipeline generation, conversion, and revenue.
  • Using AI to improve research, meeting preparation, personalization, follow-up, and overall selling effectiveness.
  • Sharing feedback from prospects and the market to help Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Product, and the broader business get better.

What Success Looks Like
Successful Account Executives at SalesAi don't just close deals.
They consistently create enough pipeline to support their goals, run high-quality sales conversations, move qualified opportunities forward, maintain an accurate forecast, and continuously improve their ability to sell. They understand that great sales execution includes both what happens in the customer conversation and what happens between conversations.
Your CRM is current. Your next steps are clear. Your follow-up gets done. You know where your deals stand, and so does the rest of the business.
What It Takes to Succeed Here
Drive: You want ambitious goals, meaningful responsibility, and meaningful earning potential. You take ownership of your results and don't need someone constantly reminding you to do the work.
Curiosity: You ask thoughtful questions and genuinely want to understand how a prospect's business works before recommending a solution. You listen for the problem behind the problem and aren't satisfied with surface-level discovery.
Coachability: You want feedback because you want to get better. You can hear something you need to improve, apply the coaching, and demonstrate different behavior the next time around.
Confidence: You're comfortable leading conversations, asking direct questions, challenging assumptions, communicating value, and asking for the business. You don't need to have every answer to confidently help a prospect determine the right next step.
Business Acumen: You can connect technology to business problems and outcomes. You're interested in understanding how companies make money, where processes break down, what inefficiencies cost, and how a solution can create measurable impact.
Accountability: You do what you say you're going to do.
Your follow-up, pipeline, CRM, forecast, and commitments don't require someone else to manage them for you. You take ownership when something isn't working and focus on fixing it rather than explaining it away.
Competitive Teamwork: You want to win and perform at a high level. You want to be at the top of the leaderboard, but not at the expense of the people around you.
We compete hard, share what's working, challenge one another, and win together.
Adaptability: AI is moving quickly, and so are we.
Our product, messaging, sales process, and market will continue to evolve. You should be energized by learning, testing, adjusting, and getting better rather than waiting for someone to hand you a perfect playbook.
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of quota-carrying B2B sales experience preferred.
  • Experience selling SaaS, technology, AI, or another consultative solution is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build pipeline, run effective discovery, manage a sales process, and close business.
  • Experience using a CRM to actively manage opportunities and pipeline. We use HubSpot.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort prospecting through calls, email, social channels, referrals, and other outbound methods.
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and communicate complex ideas simply.
  • A track record of achieving goals and taking ownership of results.

We care more about evidence that you can succeed in this role than checking every box on a résumé.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $160,000 OTE for a fully trained Account Executive, with a 50/50 split between base salary and commission.
  • Unlimited PTO after 90 days, with a culture that values both high performance and time away from work.
  • Hybrid work environment after training, including work-from-home Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Paid holidays.
  • Affordable medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days.
  • Employer-paid life insurance after 30 days.
  • Regular company-sponsored events, trips, prizes, and bonus opportunities.
  • Significant opportunities for growth and advancement as SalesAi continues to scale.

Why SalesAi?
AI is changing how businesses sell, market, and serve their customers.
We're not interested in adding AI to old processes just because it's exciting. We're building technology that helps businesses create meaningful conversations, execute work, generate revenue, and operate more effectively.
That means the opportunity here is bigger than selling software.
You'll help customers rethink what's possible with AI, while helping us build the sales organization that takes SalesAi into its next stage of growth.
If you're looking for a mature company where every answer has already been figured out, this probably isn't the role for you.
If you want to sell an exciting product, compete at a high level, get better at your craft, help build something, and make a meaningful impact on where we're going, we should talk.
