The Job at a Glance

The Senior Inbound Fulfillment Center Manager is responsible for leading all inbound operations at Encompass' new state-of-the-art fulfillment center in Atlanta. This role oversees receiving, customer returns, pack-upon-receipt, kitting, inspection, and inventory put-away while ensuring operational excellence, inventory accuracy, safety, and productivity. 
As a senior leader, this individual will play a critical role in establishing and scaling a new operation by building high-performing teams, developing standardized processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The position partners closely with Inventory Control, Transportation, Quality, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams to ensure inbound operations effectively support business growth and deliver exceptional customer service. 
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced operations leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for team development, process optimization, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence. 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development 

  • Lead, coach, and develop inbound managers, supervisors, team leads, and associates. 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement. 

  • Build and maintain a high-performing inbound operation through employee engagement and leadership development. 

Inbound Operations Management 

  • Oversee all inbound operations, including receiving, unloading, inspection, customer returns, pack-upon-receipt, kitting, and inventory put-away. 

  • Ensure inbound shipments are processed accurately and efficiently to meet productivity, quality, and dock-to-stock objectives. 

  • Monitor labor allocation, staffing levels, and scheduling to maximize operational efficiency while meeting business demands. 

Inventory & Quality Management 

  • Partner with Inventory Control to maintain inventory accuracy and quickly resolve discrepancies. 

  • Ensure compliance with operational standards and quality requirements. 

  • Drive improvements that enhance inventory integrity and operational performance. 

Performance & Continuous Improvement 

  • Analyze operational metrics and performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Implement initiatives that increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve service levels. 

  • Establish standardized work processes and operational best practices to support scalability. 

  • Support new process rollouts, technology enhancements, and future automation initiatives. 

Safety & Compliance 

  • Champion workplace safety and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and operational standards. 

  • Promote a proactive safety culture across all inbound operations. 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Lead organizational change initiatives and effectively communicate business priorities. 

  • Support the continued growth and expansion of the Atlanta fulfillment center. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align operational goals with overall business objectives. 

Qualifications 

Required Experience 

  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience within a high-volume distribution center, fulfillment center, or warehouse environment. 

  • 3+ years of experience leading managers, supervisors, or multiple operational teams. 

  • Demonstrated success managing inbound operations, including receiving, inventory put-away, returns, and material handling. 

  • Proven experience building teams, implementing standardized work, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing leaders and teams. 

Education 

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies. 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive operational decisions and improvements. 

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. 

Work Environment & Schedule 

  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions. 

  • Flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and peak business periods as business needs require.
