Job description

Purpose of Job:

Provides a supervisory function that ensures compliance with customer requirements and company policy. Supervises the activities in the Traffic Department to ensure a positive contribution to the success of the company.

Activities & Responsibilities:

โ€ข Routing and carrier selection for Plainfield D.C. outbound shipments to customers.
โ€ข Coordinates NSK cross dock operations.
โ€ข Works with customer service and manufacturing to coordinate requirement and expedite shipments.
โ€ข Coordinates import/export transportation activities and support to transportation supervisor (where applicable).
โ€ข Provides support as needed to the Trade Compliance Department.
โ€ข Ensures a safe working environment.
โ€ข Maintains and monitors for adherence to work instructions: ensures compliance to company procedures and policies.
โ€ข Ensures timely traffic department communication to all other departments.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Required:
โ€ข High School Diploma or Equivalent.
โ€ข 4-6 years of position-related experience.
โ€ข Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred:
โ€ข Technical Diploma or Associates Degree
โ€ข 6-8 years of position-related experience.

Management Responsibilities:

This job has a primary responsibility and makes decisions required for managing the work of others.
