Job description

Overview

The Implementation Lead oversees project planning, workload coordination and delegation, technical execution, and reporting for Expanded Projects across all client types. This role sets daily priorities, leads client interactions, and provides guidance and coaching to a small team of project analysts, making sure tasks are clearly defined, progress is tracked, and quality standards are met. While not a formal manager, the Implementation Lead provides day-to-day oversight and mentorship to the team and may contribute to technical delivery by performing configuration and build activities as needed. The position is accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality and client satisfaction, while demonstrating strong communication, effective project governance, and proactive management of project health.

Starting base pay for this role is between $77,000 and $97,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. We offer vacation and sick leave benefits (under a flexible time off policy in most states).

Responsibilities

Project Ownership & Governance

  • Owns all assigned expanded projects spanning all client types, ensuring they meet company standards, client needs, and agreed scope, timeline, and budget
  • Takes full responsibility for each project's success by driving effective planning, coordination, communication, and execution from start to finish
  • Follows all Professional Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including time entry requirements

 

Planning & Coordination

  • Leads or joins project kickoff meetings to confirm requirements, check assumptions, and ensure everyone understands goals, deliverables, and success criteria
  • Sets and communicates daily priorities for team members to keep work focused on project goals and deadlines
  • Builds, assigns, and manages tasks for offshore system integrators, ensuring work is clearly defined and prioritized to meet project goals
  • Monitors workloads and resources to keep the team balanced and highly utilized, ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met

 

Client Engagement

  • Responds quickly and professionally to client communications to maintain strong relationships and high client satisfaction throughout the project
  • Leads client status meetings and working sessions by guiding discussions, clarifying next steps, and documenting decisions and action items for transparency
  • Leads technical discussions, product demos, and client training sessions to ensure understanding and successful use of solutions

Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Tracks project progress, spots risks or issues early, and escalates concerns to stakeholders to protect quality and timelines
  • Identifies potential scope creep or out-of-scope work during implementation and escalates to the Project Manager
  • Assesses weekly project progress and timeline adherence, identifying issues and taking corrective actions when needed

Quality Assurance

  • Reviews project plans, designs, and deliverables for quality and accuracy before sharing them with internal or client stakeholders
  • Reviews and approves work from analysts before sending it to clients, ensuring it meets quality and functional standards
  • Ensures all deliverables meet quality standards, stay within scope and timeline, and comply with the budget
  • Reviews and improves Knowledge Transfer documentation so clients receive clear and accurate materials before project closeout

Technical Execution

  • Creates detailed design documents for complex projects or when requirements are unclear, ensuring they are practical and match system capabilities and client expectations
  • Configures the Origami platform to meet client requirements while leveraging standard configuration where possible and following best practices and industry standards
  • May perform unit testing and prepare training materials when required

 

Project Resource Oversight

  • Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight for a small team of analysts by clarifying requirements, monitoring progress, and coaching on best practices to ensure timelines, quality, and budget are met
  • Provides "just-in time" feedback and escalates any performance concerns to the Manager, Professional Services - Expanded Projects when appropriate
  • Provides the Project Manager with clear updates on progress, risks, resource needs, and project insights to support decision-making

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepares status reports that clearly show progress, risks, accomplishments, resource use, and upcoming milestones
  • Ensures accurate and timely entry and reporting of all team members' hours worked for all assigned projects
  • Responsible for the submission, oversight, and communication of client-specific bug-related tickets identified during the implementation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related or technical field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a client-facing, professional services environment, with experience in delivering projects for Enterprise (insurance) and/or Portfolio (risk management, EH&S, healthcare) domains preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, coordinate tasks, and deliver high-quality results
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and client service skills
  • Experience in insurance, risk management, EH&S, healthcare, or related domains a plus
