JOB DESCRIPTION:
Purpose or Summary of the position
  • Drive the execution of projects according to contractual requirements and customer expectations, to maximize business results with respect to sales, cash and margin, while delivering on time, with quality in conformity with KB Signaling project management and execution processes,
  • Be accountable for project Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) and project Environment Health & Safety (EHS),
  • Ensure KB Signaling legal and contractual rights are protected,
  • Seek and propose additional opportunities to the Project Director.
Primary Functions
  • Be accountable for project QCD performance and optimize Project Financial performance (Sales, Margin & Cash)
  • The PM is the business owner of the project and responsible for the overall project performance.
  • As owner of the Project Management Work Package (WP), the Project Manager is QCD accountable for all the activities of its WP.
  • Be accountable for project governance. Define project strategy in line with contract requirements, including Project Management Plan (PMP) development and objectives allocation to work packages.
  • Lead and coordinate project activities and stakeholders from inception to close-out, including:
  • Proper transfer from tender to project
  • Definition of Project objectives and main drivers to achieve customer satisfaction in the frame of the Contract
  • Resource management:
  • Define project Core Team staffing, as well as resources to execute WPs
  • Escalate when project resources available do not match the project needs
  • Leading the Team, including Core Team, and when applicable Project Managers of internal and external partners.
  • Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned towards project/ goals.
  • Engage project teams in the successful achievement of project objectives and strengthen relationships amongst them.
  • Synchronize internal partners and arbitrate when necessary.
  • Align with contractual requirements and management of variation orders. Responsible for change management at project level. Manage claims and litigation if needed.
  • Proactive risk, saving and opportunity management.
  • Management of the project progress and reports to senior management, with transparency during project reviews. The Project Manager is the representative of the project towards KB Signaling management.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual.
  • Manage customer and external stakeholders' relationship
  • Continuously ensure alignment with the customer's contractual requirements, and exceeding customer expectations
  • Pursue variation orders with the customer

Mandatory:
  • 5 years experience as project manager, preferably in the railway industry
  • Experience of working in and with multi-national companies and in different business cultures Desirable:

  • Experience leading projects in a complex, technology driven environment

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Melbourne is $89,900 to $134,900 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. KB Signaling is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics of up to 4% of annual salary.
