Job Summary
Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements | Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data | Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost | Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes | May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, business process analysis and reengineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements

Essential Functions
  • Collaborates with functional leadership to identify and select processes or projects for inclusion in the organization's continuous improvement initiative.
  • Manages the work of a team that evaluates existing processes and identifies opportunities for quality or efficiency improvement.
  • Develops and monitors the implementation of process changes meant to result in cost or waste reduction, productivity improvement, customer satisfaction, and profitability increases.
  • Tracks progress against established goals.
  • Recommends changes that may impact floor layout, material flow, or machinery selection and use.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.
    • Required Qualifications
      • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
      • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

      Preferred Qualifications
      • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
      • Discipline/Major: Business, Engineering, Operations or related field preferred
      • Additional certifications: Lean, Six Sigma, or related certification preferred
      • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership Skills. Problem management. Judgement. Detail oriented. Attentiveness. Project management skills.

      Physical Requirements
      • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
      • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
      • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

      Travel Requirements
      Up to 25% travel likely.
