Special Education Paraeducator (Contract) | Ridgefield, CT


Location: Ridgefield, CT
Position Type: Contract (2 Months with Potential Extension Through End of School Year)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Start Date: ASAP

About the Opportunity


Staffing Boutique is seeking compassionate and dedicated Special Education Paraeducators to support students within a school district in Ridgefield, Connecticut. These immediate contract opportunities are expected to last approximately two months, with the potential for extension through the remainder of the school year.


Paraeducators will provide direct support to students with a variety of learning, developmental, and behavioral needs. Many assignments involve working one-on-one with students and supporting individualized educational and behavioral goals throughout the school day.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students receiving special education services
  • Assist teachers and special education staff with classroom instruction and behavioral interventions
  • Support students with autism, learning disabilities, communication challenges, and other special needs
  • Implement behavior support plans under the guidance of school staff and behavioral specialists
  • Assist students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities
  • Support students with personal care needs, including toileting assistance when required
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and behavioral support teams
  • For designated assignments, accompany students during bus transportation to and from school


Schedule

Available schedules include:

  • 7:45 AM - 3:45 PM (includes accompanying a student on bus transportation)
  • 8:15 AM - 3:45 PM

Workday includes a 30-minute lunch break.


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass all required background screening requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, patient, and compassionate approach


Preferred

  • Experience working with children in educational, childcare, behavioral health, or special education settings
  • Experience supporting students with autism and/or behavioral challenges
  • Experience working with nonverbal students
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or related behavioral support experience
  • CPR certification (preferred but not required)


Contract Details

  • Initial contract term of approximately 2 months
  • Strong possibility of extension through the end of the school year
  • Multiple openings available throughout the district
  • Immediate hiring needs
