What is a hybrid paralegal?

A Hybrid Paralegal job combines traditional paralegal duties with additional responsibilities, such as legal technology support, administrative tasks, or client communication. These professionals work both remotely and in-office, depending on the employer's needs. They may assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, conducting research, and managing case files while leveraging digital tools for efficiency. This role requires strong legal knowledge, adaptability, and proficiency in legal software.

What does a typical day look like for a hybrid paralegal, and how is work divided between remote and on-site tasks?

A typical day for a Hybrid Paralegal includes a mix of tasks that may be performed both remotely and on-site, such as drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, managing case files, and communicating with attorneys or clients. On remote days, you might focus on preparing briefs, organizing digital records, or participating in video conferences. When in the office, duties often involve handling physical documents, filing with courts, or collaborating directly with your legal team. This flexible structure allows for productivity across different settings while supporting team coordination and efficient client service.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the hybrid paralegal position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Hybrid Paralegal, you need a solid understanding of legal procedures, research, and document management, usually supported by an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field. Familiarity with legal research software, e-filing systems, and office productivity tools such as Microsoft Office or legal case management platforms is often required. Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and effective communication are important soft skills in this role. These competencies are crucial because a Hybrid Paralegal typically balances in-office and remote work responsibilities, requiring efficiency and collaboration across digital and physical environments.

  • Medical PPO coverage with vision benefits and Delta Dental PPO
  • 19 days of accrued vacation, unlimited tracked sick time and 10 paid holidays
  • Discretionary year-end bonus tied to performance, billable achievement and contributions to significant transactions
