Job Title: Trauma Therapist Child amp; Family
Location/Schedule: Clark Fulton Office, Cleveland, OH, M-F 9:00am – 5:00pm (Two evenings per week with at least one night in office required)

About Cleveland Rape Crisis Center
Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC) supports survivors of rape and sexual abuse, promotes healing and prevention and advocates for social change. CRCC was founded in 1974 in response to Cleveland’s long-standing need for services to assist survivors of sexual assault.
CRCC offers services in Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga and Lake counties such as legal advocacy, case management, and therapy services. We also do education and outreach work, to educate the community on sexual violence and human trafficking prevention.
Position Summary
The Trauma Therapist provides trauma informed individual, family, and group therapy to child victims of sexual and other complex trauma and their non-offending family members using evidence-based treatment modalities. The Trauma Therapist has a productivity requirement and is expected to independently manage a case load to ensure that all clients receive timely services.
This position will be primarily office-based at the Juvenile Justice System, but the therapist may on occasion be asked to meet the family in another location such as the family’s home, school, or community, or a facility. The Juvenile Justice System is a collaborative effort requiring multi-disciplinary team meetings and regular cross professional communication and team work for the well-being of the children and families served
Key Responsibilities
  • Clinically assess and diagnose child survivors and non-offending family members
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling to child survivors and non-offending family members using evidence-based treatment modalities
  • Maintain a regular caseload that is agreed upon
  • Complete individualized treatment plans
  • Measure treatment progress by assessing improvement on clinical assessment tools
  • Identify and provide community resources to clients and Juvenile Justice System guests as needed
  • Document session notes in client chart/electronic medical records database (Apricot), provide written reports as appropriate, and enter service data following agency policies and procedures
  • Provide crisis intervention for clients receiving other primary services
  • Prepare child victims and witnesses for court
  • Provide testimony in court and document preparation as required by subpoena
  • Incorporate trauma-informed care philosophy, practices, and strategies in all activities
  • Develop creative ways to further our engagement with at-risk populations
  • Provide community trainings to foster knowledge of the populations served
  • Facilitate support groups at the Juvenile Justice Center
  • Collaborating with the anti-human-trafficking task-force as needed
  • Practice within professional areas of expertise and under the supervision of an independently licensed practitioner
  • Maintain productivity expectations which may change based on the goals of the agency
  • Effectively coordinate client care with other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care
  • Participate in all multi-disciplinary team and mental health team meetings
  • Maintain positive working relationships with agency stakeholders and community partnerships related to the Juvenile Justice System
  • Work closely with all therapeutic services and multidisciplinary team members to identify the needs of clients and their support systems
  • Complete data collection, data entry, and required reports and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with program timelines and standards
Education, Experience, Licenses, amp; Certifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Services, Counseling, Art Therapy and/or a related field
  • One of the following valid OH licenses:
    • Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
    • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
    • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
  • 2+ years of direct clinical/therapy experience with child trauma survivors and families
  • Experience with human trafficking survivors preferred
  • Experience with community-based work preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with survivors of sexual violence
  • Experience using evidence-based modes of therapy
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • May consider an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training to meet the essential functions of the position
Salary amp; Benefits
Salary Range: $55,000 - $68,000 annually
