The Role

Agilent is looking for a highly talented, experienced Systems Engineering Solutions Architectto leverage their product development knowledge at the enterprise level to serve as the point expert across Agilent. This role is responsible for driving functional engineering excellence via process and tool standardization, as well as execution oversight. This leader will actively establish a center of excellence and community of practice, serving as the primary systems engineering architecture authority for modularization, reuse and development acceleration.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of product development across the enterprise, enabling world-class engineering capabilities and innovation velocity. You will play a pivotal role in building a unified, modern, high-performance R&D ecosystem that accelerates product development and scales the company's technology advantage.

Beyond technical leadership, you will play a critical role in mentoring and developing engineers across the organization to function as an effective, collaborative unit. Acting as the primary systems engineering enterprise champion for the team, the Systems Engineering Solutions Architect removes barriers, accelerates decisions, and fosters a culture of empowerment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Product Lifecycle Optimization

  • Accelerate the Product Lifecycle (PLC) across the organization by driving a single enterprise-wide best-practice of the systems engineering ecosystem with standardized frameworks and governance.

  • Lead training, coaching, and change management to ensure adoption across all business groups.

  • Use KPIs and analytics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.

Engineering for Excellence

  • Define and maintain enterprise-level systems engineering standards, tools, test methods, and design frameworks.

  • Lead the systems engineering Leadership Forum to drive alignment and best-practice sharing.

  • Partner with product and technology leaders to strengthen technical rigor and innovative culture.

  • Serve as a leadership role model across the organization, mentoring emerging leaders and promoting a high-performance culture that values accountability and collaboration.

Digital Tool Chain Management

  • Manage and modernize the end-to-end digital development tool chain and ensure enterprise modular design and hardware reuse.

  • Evaluate, deploy, and integrate common tools that enhance productivity and process efficiency.

  • Provide training and best-practice guidance to ensure consistent, effective tool usage

Shared Capability Development

  • Establish a systems engineering design hub to enable scalable, high-quality engineering support.

  • Drive engineering initiatives to optimize development costs, architectural design deployment, accelerate time-to-market and effective transfer into manufacturing.

  • Optimize designs for supply chain stability and continued post-market production.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in science or engineering. Master's degree or PhD preferred.

Experience

  • At least 10 yearsof growing responsibility in R&D technical engineering roles or a PhD in a relevant engineering discipline with 5 years of industry experience, with extensive, successful experience in product development
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and delivering results
  • Experience leading globally distributed teams
  • Experience building organizational capability through coaching, training, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration, influencing senior leaders, and driving alignment across diverse business groups.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least May 13, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $168,160.00 - $315,300.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
