Primary Function: 

The HR Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and operational support across a broad range of human resources functions, ensuring the smooth day-to-day execution of HR programs and processes. The position will be based in our Houston, Texas office located at 12301 Kurland Drive and will report to Dashiell's Human Resources Manager. This position may be classified as Senior HR Coordinator depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions: 

  • Facilitate new hire orientations, including completion of new hire paperwork, and coordination of orientation activities. 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality at all times. 

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and general HR matters; escalate complex issues to the appropriate HR staff. 

  • Support benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, terminations, and responding to employee questions. 

  • Assist with the administration of leave programs (FMLA, LOA, etc.) in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. 

  • Prepare and process HR-related documentation, including employment verifications, status changes, and separation paperwork. 

  • Support compliance efforts by maintaining required postings, tracking training completions, and assisting with audit preparation. 

  • Assist in coordinating employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and HR-sponsored events. 

  • Generate standard HR reports and metrics to support departmental reporting needs. 

  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience 

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; equivalent work experience (4 years) will be considered in lieu of a degree. 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR support or administrative role preferred 

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred 

  • Working knowledge of HR principles, practices, and applicable federal and state employment laws (including FMLA, ADA, and FLSA) 

  • Experience with an HRIS platform strongly preferred 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service oriented approach 

  • High level of discretion and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. 

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating office equipment. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. 

  • Ability to occasionally stand and walk within an office environment. 

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally. 

  • Occasional travel to other offices or meeting locations.
