Position Overview

The Program Supervisor provides on-site supervision to his/her designated program and assists in overseeing the areas of individual support, medical needs, program support, and supervisory duties, while maintaining effective communication with appropriate team members and staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the daily activities of individuals supported and collaborates with the ProgramCoordinator to address any concerns in a timely fashion.
  • Consults with nursing staff regarding medical recommendations, such as Physical Therapy,Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, etc.
  • Maintains and posts weekend staffing schedule and assists Program Coordinator inreviewing/responding to time off requests.
  • Ensures vouchers are completed accurately and in a timely fashion, and receipts are attachedfor all individual and program expenses before being turned into Program Coordinator.
  • Provides direct supervision of and ongoing feedback to Direct Support Professionals/Aides andcommunicates any performance concerns with Program Coordinator.
  • Ensures compliance with agency policies and practices.
  • Assists Program Coordinator in monitoring Therap and E-MAR.
  • Communicate with Program Coordinator regarding the general functioning of the program.Will have a regular 80 hours work agreement with a schedule made to best support the programincluding every other weekend.
  • Will complete 64 hours of DSP per pay period and 16 hours of Admin per pay period.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Completion of Hiawatha Homes Medication Administration class
  • High school diploma or GED + 2 years of Direct Support Professional experience or, High school diploma or GED + 1 year of Direct Support Professional experience and 1 year of supervisory experience in a related field.


Pilot Program Notice:
This position is part of a six-month pilot program to evaluate the Program Supervisor role and its
effectiveness in supporting program operations, staff, and the individuals we serve.
