Summary:
Responsible for providing leadership in the development and execution of School of Medicine Human Resources and its relationship to UNC Health Care. This position establishes and implements HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the system's strategic vision. The Associate Dean of Human Resources provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team and appropriate stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Human Resources - Develops and leads the Human Resource strategies, including plans, policies and systems, to support the mission and strategy of the system. Leads the strategy behind the development of a robust workforce plan for the long-term future of the system. Benchmarks the broader healthcare industry to stay current on trends affecting the talent pipeline. Actively participates as a member of the executive team on strategic business direction of the organization. Operates as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing advice and counsel to all members of the executive team on organizational and people issues. Directs a team of HR leaders in recruiting, employee relations, organizational development, compensation, benefits, and HRIS. Identifies and mitigates risk across the system related to all aspects of talent, health and workforce safety issues and ensures appropriate compliance with federal and state employment laws. Leads continuous improvement to enhance HR value and establish data metrics.
2. Leading People - Leads people toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals. Provides an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts. Encourages workforce engagement by building a commitment to excellence and by promoting the organization's vision internally and externally. Professional Experience Requirements:
Requires a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, with at least ten (10) years of people management experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
Solves complex problems that may have a long-term impact on the business function/line of business. Develops innovative ideas and solutions with significance to the organization's future. Identifies problem areas and skill gaps proactively and addresses them appropriately. Excellent project management and change management skills for designing and implementing Entity, Triangle, or System initiatives in a complex environment.
