Job description

The Human Resources Coordinator is a key member of the HR team responsible for supporting the employee lifecycle and delivering exceptional service to employees and managers. This role serves as the primary HR contact for assigned locations, partnering closely with leadership to support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, HR administration, reporting, and employee engagement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and providing outstanding customer service.

_ What you're responsible for:_

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruiting activities, including posting positions, scheduling interviews, preparing offer letters, completing pre-employment screenings, and coordinating onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to deliver a positive and efficient hiring experience.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure all onboarding documentation is completed accurately.
  • Track recruiting metrics and assist with workforce planning initiatives.

Employee Relations & HR Support

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and supervisors at assigned locations.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and company procedures.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary documentation, performance management, and coaching while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process employment changes, employment verifications, corrective actions, and other HR documentation.

HR Operations

  • Coordinate recurring HR programs, including:
    • Performance evaluations
    • Introductory/probationary reviews
    • Compensation and bonus administration
    • Open enrollment support
    • Employee recognition programs
    • Annual policy acknowledgments
  • Maintain organizational charts, HR calendars, and employee communications.
  • Monitor HR workflows and ensure deadlines are met.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Generate HR reports related to recruiting, headcount, turnover, attendance, training, and performance metrics.
  • Support leadership by preparing HR dashboards and workforce analytics.
  • Identify trends and recommend process improvements to enhance HR operations.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate employee training and development initiatives.
  • Track required compliance training and certifications.
  • Support leadership development and employee engagement programs.
  • Assist with the rollout of new HR programs and organizational initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Payroll, Benefits, Safety, Finance, and Operations to ensure consistent HR support across the organization.
  • Participate in company projects, organizational changes, acquisitions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate I-9 compliance, E-Verify, background checks, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification (or progress toward certification) is a plus.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, and compliance.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, logistics, recycling, or other multi-site environments is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS systems; Dayforce experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
  • Primarily office-based with regular interaction in warehouse, production, or industrial environments.
  • Ability to walk production floors and travel between company locations as needed.
  • Occasional travel to support HR initiatives and multiple sites.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
