Job Description

Job Profile Summary

Analyze, administer, and lead the design, evaluation, and continuous improvement of compensation programs including developing and maintaining job descriptions, job evaluation, internal equity and external market analysis, salary administration, and variable pay plans.

Serve as a subject matter expert and consultative partner to HR Business Partners and leadership to ensure compensation programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned to organizational strategy.

Support the design, implementation, and governance of total rewards programs, policies, and procedures. Support and operationalize the organization's job architecture framework, including job leveling, career paths, and compensation structures.

Ensure that compensation programs, policies and practices enhance the Hospital's ability to attract, retain, motivate and engage employees and are compliant with regulations, union agreements, plan documents, and policies.

Job Description

  • Lead and/or independently manage participation in salary and HR practices surveys

  • Gather data and conduct complex market and equity analysis; interpret results and develop recommendations for leaders

  • Update and draft job descriptions and ensure alignment with job architecture framework and market benchmarks

  • Administer step, contractual, and merit increases in partnership with HRIT and HR Business Partners; identify trends and recommend improvements to processes and guidelines

  • Incentive and variable pay program administration; support design enhancements and analysis of effectiveness of programs

  • Respond to inquiries; prepare and edit employee and management communications; provide consultative guidance on compensation matters

  • Job evaluation of new and existing jobs using established job architecture and leveling criteria

  • Partner with recruitment team on job offer recommendations and internal transfers; provide guidance on complex or exception-based offers

  • Maintain job profiles by adding new jobs and updating existing job profiles in Workday; ensure data integrity and governance of job catalog

  • Ensure compliance with DOL, FLSA and minimum wage requirements; proactively monitor regulatory changes and recommend updates

  • Partner with HR, Finance, and leadership on compensation planning cycles (e.g., merit, market adjustments, incentives)

  • Contribute to compensation-related projects, including system enhancements, process improvements, and program rollouts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, social sciences, or related field.

  • Five (5)+ years of progressive experience in human resources and/or finance including 3-5 years in Compensation or total rewards analysis experience preferred

  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with employees and management staff

  • Knowledge of computerized HRIT applications; Workday a plus

  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word skills including the development of complex spreadsheets and presentations, and experience preparing, documenting and presenting narrative reports and statistical analyses

  • Knowledge of FLSA, DOL, ADA, EEO, and other regulatory and compliance requirements related to compensation and employment.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Experience coordinating workstreams or key components of projects; ability to manage multiple priorities independently

  • Attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and provide consultative guidance on compensation-related decisions
