Job Description:

The HR Manager for the Industrial Equipment & Automation Division plays a key role in developing a high-performing, people-focused organization. This position partners closely with managers and the HR Director to drive talent initiatives that support business growth, strengthen pipelines, and enhance the overall employee experience.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative HR professional who thrives on building strong partnerships, influencing positive outcomes, and balancing strategic awareness with hands-on execution.

Essential Functions:

Leadership & Culture

  • Model ITW’s Core Values and Leadership Expectations in all interactions. 
  • Serve as a trusted partner to managers and employees, championing our culture and promoting a positive, consistent ITW employee experience.   
  • Collaborate with managers to drive employee engagement, team performance, and organizational effectiveness. 
  • Provide coaching and guidance related to talent development, team dynamics, and performance management.

Workforce Planning & Talent Acquisition

  • Collaborate with managers to proactively identify workforce challenges and implement strategies to address the current and future business needs.
  • Partner with the Welding talent acquisition team to develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent from a diverse candidate pool.
  • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition to ensure seamless integration and positive employee experience.
  • Participate in interviews with hiring managers and teams to help assess high-potential leadership and individual contributor talent.
  • Lead new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a strong start for employees.

Talent Development

  • Partner with leaders to strengthen internal pipelines and support long-term workforce capability. 
  • Assist with divisional performance and talent reviews.
  • Support leaders in identifying and developing talent through career planning, development opportunities, succession planning, and ongoing employee coaching.
    • Drive employee growth opportunities and development plans.
    • Coordinate training and development programs for employees and managers.
    •  Partner with the ITW Enterprise Talent team to cascade recommended tools and resources along with coaching and other program support.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Support day-to-day HR operations and employee initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Assist with leave administration, HR reporting, policy communication, and HR systems support.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters and conduct investigations as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support HR process improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with campus HR team members to drive alignment, share best practices, and ensure consistent application of policies across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Travel up to 15%
  • Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and HR operations.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems.
