The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of Human Resources programs and initiatives across the employee lifecycle. This role partners with employees and managers to deliver HR support in areas including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, training, HRIS administration, and talent acquisition. The HR Generalist helps ensure HR processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals while fostering a positive employee experience.

Primary Responsibilities                                     

  • Supports the day-to-day administration of Human Resources functions, including employee relations, benefits, compliance, performance management, HRIS, onboarding, and HR operations
  • Serves as a resource for employees and managers by responding to HR-related questions and providing guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment practices
  • Maintains accurate employee records and HRIS data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Assists with employee onboarding, orientation, offboarding, and employment status changes to ensure a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Administers employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and employee education
  • Coordinates leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other leave programs in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
  • Supports compliance initiatives by assisting with HR audits, I-9 administration, personnel file maintenance, and adherence to employment laws and company policies
  • Assists with employee training, compliance programs, performance review processes, employee engagement initiatives, and other HR programs
  • Assists with recruitment activities as needed, including maintaining job postings, coordinating interviews, and supporting the hiring process
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications                    

  • Strong knowledge of HR policies and employment laws
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HRIS)
  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning
  • Effective collaborator with a results-driven, team-oriented mindset
  • Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, ADA, EEO, and related federal and state regulations
  • Experience supporting or working with technology

Education and/or Experience                         

  • 2+ years in a previous HR Generalist role
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent post-secondary degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with assessing talent
  • Prior construction experience preferred
  • Must have good business written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish
  • Must have a valid Driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Strong customer service skills
