Job description

The Security House Officer works closely with the Security Team to enforce all security procedures and hotel policies to ensure the protection, comfort and safety of all guests, patrons, and employees.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Protect The Peninsula property and the property of all guests, patrons, and employees.
  • Serve as Deputy Fire Safety Director and be physically and mentally fit in the event of emergency situations.
  • Articulate and represent The Peninsula brand, it's guests and employees in a professional and positive manner.
  • Provide pleasant, tactful, and extremely courteous service to all guests on a consistent basis.
  • Constant patrolling of the hotel premises both exterior and interior.
  • Monitor security cameras and ensure all areas of hotel are safe and always in good standing.
  • Records all occurrences of security interest in the logbook for the information of the security personnel and management. 
  • Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Ensures that the Hotel's policy and procedures in key issuance are always adhered to.  
  • Questions any suspicious character in a polite manner; refuses entry if the subject is not able to provide reasonable reply; requests for assistance immediately if the situation arises. 

General Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a luxury hotel environment. University degree a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of security industry best practice across relevant security operations (loss prevention, conflict resolution, access control, etc.)
  • New York State Security Guard License and satisfy Security Guard Act training.
  • Must possess valid certificate of fitness for Fire and Life Safety Director license.
  • Safety, First Aid, AED and CPR training and certification is preferred.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with guests and team members. 
  • Self-starter, independent, good presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical, detailed oriented, organized, result-oriented, and articulate.
