What is an hourly AI tester?

Hourly AI Testers are professionals who are hired on an hourly basis to evaluate, test, and provide feedback on artificial intelligence systems, software, or applications. Their tasks often include running test cases, identifying bugs, assessing user experience, and ensuring the AI behaves as expected. These testers may work on a variety of AI products, such as chatbots, machine learning models, or voice assistants. By providing detailed reports on their findings, Hourly AI Testers help improve the quality and reliability of AI technologies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an hourly AI tester, and why are they important?

To excel as an Hourly AI Tester, you need a solid understanding of software testing principles, attention to detail, and familiarity with AI concepts, often supported by experience or coursework in computer science or quality assurance. Proficiency with test management tools, bug tracking systems like JIRA, and knowledge of scripting languages for automation are typically required. Strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and adaptability help testers identify issues and collaborate effectively with development teams. These skills ensure AI systems are robust, meet quality standards, and function as intended in diverse scenarios.

What are some common challenges faced by hourly AI testers, and how can they effectively address them?

Hourly AI Testers often encounter rapidly changing project requirements and tight deadlines, which can make it challenging to thoroughly test new features or updates. To address these challenges, it's important to maintain clear communication with developers and project managers, prioritize test cases based on risk and impact, and use automated testing tools when possible to streamline repetitive tasks. Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Uber Driver for Testing the Uber App based in Netherlands.

Join a flexible, fully remote freelance testing opportunity where your experience as an active driver directly contributes to improving a widely used mobile app.
You'll test new features in the driver experience and provide practical feedback based on real-world usage.
The role focuses on functional testing, helping identify issues and ensure a smooth experience for drivers.
You'll work on short-term testing tasks with a regular weekly cadence and occasional additional requests.
Testing can be completed around your existing schedule, giving you the freedom to choose when you participate.
You'll receive guidance and testing materials, as well as access to a platform for tracking and reporting your findings.
This is an opportunity to earn $27 USD per hour while contributing to improvements in a global-scale app.

Accountabilities
  • Participate in functional testing of new and updated features within the driver mobile app.
  • Use the app in realistic scenarios and evaluate whether features work as expected.
  • Identify and document defects or unexpected behavior using the designated defect-tracking platform.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and actionable feedback based on your experience as an active driver.
  • Complete assigned testing tasks within the required timeframe, with approximately one hour of testing availability needed per opportunity.
  • Review provided testing materials and instructions before completing each assignment.
  • Participate in recurring weekly testing activities, with additional ad-hoc opportunities when available.
Requirements:
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be physically located in Switzerland.
  • Be an active Uber Driver with experience using the driver app.
  • Have an iPhone and/or Android smartphone suitable for testing.
  • Have at least one hour available for testing assignments.
  • Be comfortable following testing instructions and documenting findings clearly.
  • Have strong attention to detail and the ability to provide practical, structured feedback.
  • Be comfortable working independently in a remote freelance environment.
  • Have a local bank account that supports SEPA payments, as required for testing the app's Flex Pay feature. You will not be asked to share your banking information with the testing teams.
  • Be willing to create an account on the partner's testing platform if selected, where assignments are provided and payments are processed.
Benefits:
  • Pay: $27 USD per hour for completed testing work.
  • Hourly compensation: You are paid for your testing time rather than per bug found, so you are compensated even when no issues are identified.
  • Flexible schedule: Choose when to complete available testing tasks around your existing commitments.
  • Remote work: Complete assignments from wherever you are, without being tied to a physical office.
  • Freelance flexibility: Take part in this project alongside other work or testing opportunities that interest you.
  • Weekly payments: Receive payment weekly through PayPal or Payoneer for eligible completed tasks.
  • Global experience: Gain hands-on experience testing a mobile application used at a global scale.
  • Professional growth: Strengthen your testing, communication, analytical, and technical skills through real-world assignments.
  • Testing support: Receive preparation materials and instructions to help you understand each testing assignment.
