Homecare Assistant - $4,000 Sign-On Bonus (to be paid throughout the first year of employment).  

Homecare Assistant Pay Rate starting at $16.50 per hour.

Lutheran SeniorLife provides a comprehensive array of community-based health and social service programs throughout western Pennsylvania.

Our services include LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly); skilled nursing, home health; personal care; adoption & foster care; assisted living; adult day services; memory care; hospice; palliative care; residential living; affordable housing; home safety monitoring; Meals on Wheels; rehabilitation services and private duty.

 

LIFE is a program that serves county residents living in Armstrong, Butler, Beaver and Lawrence Counties. It is an all-inclusive comprehensive program that helps individuals maintain their independence in their home and community through supportive services. The LIFE programs offer an array of person-centered services from medical care to adult day supports with the primary goal of allowing individuals to remain in their own home.

The Homecare Assistant performs basic household duties to assist participants to maintain an environment consistent with their needs. Provides for needs in the home in a manner that ensures participant satisfaction and retention. Assists participant with such activities as bed-making, changing linens, grocery shopping, light cleaning and light meal preparation, trash disposal, etc. Knowledge and support of the mission and core values of LIFE Programs are important to successful performance, as are commitment to and demonstration of a spirit of teamwork. May be assigned to work in the Day Center as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications for Homecare Assistant include:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One or more years of related experience in working with individuals in a health care or service oriented setting.
  • Must have one year experience with the frail or elderly population.
  • Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Must have dependable transportation with a valid driver's license in order to visit clients in their homes and other sites.
