Work Environment

Our Physical Therapists operate predominantly in a home care environment, which allows for a more personalized approach to patient treatment. This onsite role in Lehigh Acres provides therapists with the unique opportunity to assess patients in their own homes, factoring in their specific home environments and daily routines into their therapy plans. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients recovering from injury, disease, or surgery in a home care setting, using a comprehensive approach tailored to individual needs.
• Develop and implement treatment plans that utilize various methodologies including exercise prescription, manual therapy, and the use of therapeutic equipment to relieve pain and enhance mobility.
• Document treatment protocols, patient responses, and progress meticulously to ensure effective communication within the care team.
• Reassess and modify treatment goals and plans as patients achieve objectives, ensuring their continued progression towards full recovery.
• Assist clients in selecting and fitting assistive devices to facilitate self-care and mobility when necessary.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on therapeutic procedures and proper use of assistive modalities to encourage independence.
• Stay informed on current best practices and advancements in physical therapy through continued professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our therapists work with a diverse group of patients of all ages and varying diagnoses, from pediatric cases to geriatric rehabilitation. This role requires a sensitivity to different stages of life and a commitment to fostering patients' best health outcomes by encouraging their active participation in the treatment process. You will influence the recovery journeys of those recovering from different injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions, always prioritizing their individual needs and circumstances.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is essential. A Bachelor's Degree will not suffice for this role.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and medical teams.
• Proficient in using computers and electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation and patient management.
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in treatment approaches and scheduling to meet patients’ needs.

Preferred Experience

While we require two years of prior experience in physical therapy, we are open to new graduates who demonstrate exceptional skills and motivation. You will receive mentorship opportunities that will help you refine your techniques and approach to patient care.
