The Physical Therapist role is primarily an onsite position that requires traveling to various patient homes in the Sanford area. You will be working in a flexible and supportive environment, where you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Our home care setting enables you to build meaningful relationships with patients, offering both physical therapy and emotional support to improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct comprehensive physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and enhancing muscle function in accordance with individualized treatment plans.
  • Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring effective implementation of care protocols.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' functional abilities and home environments, recommending adaptive strategies to maximize independence.
  • Administer a range of therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and the application of physical agents such as traction and massage.
  • Evaluate and prescribe appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices, liaising with physicians for necessary adjustments.
  • Document patient progress and updates meticulously, preparing clinical records including initial evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Engage actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to collaboratively plan and evaluate holistic treatment strategies for patients.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their families on managing physical therapy equipment and programs effectively.
  • Stay accessible for consultation with Physical Therapy Assistants providing treatment, ensuring supervision complies with state regulations.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of care plans through regular reviews and adaptations based on patient needs.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will be working with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, those managing chronic conditions, and patients requiring rehabilitation following injuries. Our focus is on delivering care that not only addresses physical limitations but also supports emotional and mental well-being.

Qualifications
  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution is required.
  • An active Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida, free from any sanctions or disciplinary action.
  • A demonstrated ability in a variety of manual therapy techniques.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly Web PT, for clinical documentation.
  • A commitment to staying abreast of current research-based physical therapy practices.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in home healthcare settings, particularly with geriatric patients.
  • Exposure to interdisciplinary team practices and case management.
  • Advanced skills in developing individualized exercise programs tailored to specific patient needs.
Compensation and Benefits

St. Luke's Therapeutics offers a highly competitive salary between $100,000 and $120,000 per year, complemented by a robust benefits package. Full-time team members enjoy healthcare, dental, vision, and pharmacological coverage, along with retirement options such as a 401K plan. We understand the importance of work-life balance and provide generous paid time off, company-paid holidays, and access to mobile benefits, telemedicine, health education resources, and much more.
