Business Development Lead

fun.xyz

New York, NY

Full-time

Posted 4 days ago

Job description

Capital markets are undergoing a fundamental shift. Assets that live in fragmented systems and manual workflows are moving onto blockchains -systems designed to move and store value more transparently and efficiently.
While this unlocks more open and programmable financial systems, it also introduces significant complexity. For most users, interacting with this new infrastructure is still too difficult.
Fun builds the infrastructure that powers consumer-facing fintech applications - handling onboarding, account access, and money movement so users can interact with blockchain-based systems as seamlessly as they do with traditional finance.
For fintech builders, Fun provides a best-in-class onboarding and deposit stack that drives conversion and unlocks user growth. We operate at the intersection of financial infrastructure, complex engineering, and product experience.

About The Role

We're looking for a Business Development Lead to own and accelerate Fun's commercial growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a senior individual contributor role - you'll run high-touch enterprise deals end-to-end and help shape how we bring Checkout to market across payments, fintech, and iGaming. You don't need crypto experience; we're actively looking for people who've built deep BD muscle in these industries and are ready to apply it to the infrastructure layer of on-chain commerce.
What You'll Do
  • Own the Full Deal Cycle: Drive deals from sourcing and qualification through discovery, solution design, negotiation, and close.
  • Build and Manage Pipeline: Develop a high-quality pipeline across target verticals - payments, fintech, and iGaming - with a focus on enterprise accounts.
  • Represent Fun.xyz Externally: Attend industry conferences and ecosystem events to build relationships, generate pipeline, and expand our footprint in key verticals.
  • Shape the Commercial Motion: Partner with the CEO and product team to translate technical capabilities into compelling commercial narratives and feed structured field insights back into roadmap, pricing, and positioning.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 7+ years of BD or sales experience with a consistent track record of closing enterprise deals.
  • Background in payments, fintech, or iGaming - ideally with experience selling to or within financial infrastructure, neobanks, payment companies, or regulated gaming operators.
  • Proven ability to run complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles independently. Comfortable engaging executives, founders, product leaders, and legal/compliance stakeholders with equal confidence.
  • Genuine curiosity about crypto and the future of on-chain payments.
Nice to Have
  • Existing, active relationships with leadership teams in target verticals
  • Familiarity with payment rails, card networks, stablecoins, or crypto UX challenges.
  • Experience selling payments infrastructure, fiat orchestration, or embedded financial products.
  • Experience as an early commercial hire at a high-growth startup
Why Join Us

Shape the future of payments and programmable money
Work with bleeding-edge tech in a domain where innovation moves fast
Join a mission-driven team focused on access, openness, and trust
Be a key contributor, not just a cog-your work will ship fast and matter
Collaborate with top-tier protocols, builders, and financial infrastructure providers

Location and Work Environment

This role is primarily in-person at our Midtown, NYC headquarters. We work together Monday through Thursday for fast, iterative collaboration and optional WFH Fridays to reset and recharge.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
