Utility Powerline & Pipeline Patrol Helicopter Pilot

Location: Within 50 miles of Pembroke, NH

Supervisor: Chief Pilot

Schedule: Full-time

Job Summary:

The Helicopter Pilot will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating helicopters for various missions, as approved.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate helicopters for various missions, including aerial application, utility services, power line patrol, and other specialized operations.
  • Conduct daily pre-flight and daily post-flight inspections of aircraft to ensure airworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Plan and execute flights in accordance with flight plans, weather conditions, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of flight time, fuel consumption, maintenance activities, and other relevant information.
  • Collaborate with ground crews, maintenance personnel, and other team members to coordinate mission planning and execution.
  • Adhere to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and safety procedures to ensure safe and compliant flight operations.
  • Conduct tailboard meetings/safety briefings, as appropriate.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, technology advancements, and regulatory changes related to helicopter operations.
  • Complete required training and certifications, including recurrent training, safety courses, and specialized training programs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in flying in applicable terrain and wire environments, applying specialized techniques and procedures to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude while representing the company to clients, regulatory agencies, and other partners.
  • Able to lift and perform tasks that involve working on knees, bending, crouching, and reaching overhead repeatedly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, aircraft, vehicles, and all company equipment through diligent housekeeping practices.
  • Serve as a responsible steward of company resources by promoting efficiency and conservation measures.
  • Capable of working flexible hours to support the needs of customers.
  • Subject to overnight travel, based on the needs of customers.
  • Maintain proficiency in software systems and processes.
  • Maintain, at minimum, FAA Medical Certificate Second Class.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Rotorcraft Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating required.
  • Current 2nd Class Medical Certificate required.
  • Minimum of 1,000 hours of total helicopter flight time.
  • Minimum of 300 hours of turbine time.
  • Experience with Bell 206 B/L and/or Bell 407 (preferred).
  • Experience in power line and/or pipeline patrol operations preferred.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new software systems and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow scheduled plans.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
