About the Role
This position is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in the legal field. As a Legal Assistant (Hearing Case Manager), you will play a key role in supporting attorneys and clients throughout the Social Security Disability process, ensuring exceptional service and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients via phone and email
  • Review medical records
  • Work 1:1 with an attorney to prepare case files for hearings
  • Process and file documents with Social Security Administration
  • Guide clients through paperwork and documentation requirements
  • Maintain accuracy and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Develop a strong understanding of Social Security Disability procedures and related medical issues
  • Utilize legal management software effectively
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

Compensation
  • Starting pay: Michigan $23.00 per hour
  • Annual increases of $3.00 per hour through your third work anniversary
