Summary:
The Director of Primary Care - Administrative provides operational, clinical, and financial leadership for primary care services within the Northern Light Health Provider Network. This role is responsible for the performance of primary care practices across assigned areas, including quality, access, growth, and financial outcomes. In dyad partnership with the Physician Leader - Primary Care, this leader supports the implementation and execution of care delivery models that advance high-quality, patient-centered, and value-based primary care, aligned with enterprise strategy and organizational priorities.
Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Operations: Oversee implementation of enterprise operating standards across assigned primary care practices, including across the system access management, scheduling strategy, panel optimization, staffing models, care team design, facilities coordination, and technology enablement in partnership with the Physician Leader - Primary Care.
  • Performance Management: Lead performance management processes, including regular review of access, employee and patient experience, productivity, financial, quality-aligned operational metrics, and panel performance with local management to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strategy: Partner with the Physician Leader - Primary Care to inform and implement enterprise primary care strategies with area-specific contexts including operational growth, access, workforce, recruitment and retention, quality, and network development initiatives that align with Northern Light Health strategic and value-based care priorities and long-term market and clinical program strategies.
  • Finance: Partner with Provider Network finance leadership and the Physician Leader - Primary Care to manage financial performance of area assigned primary care services including monitoring of operating budgets, contribution to long-range financial planning, monitoring and identification of areas of opportunity or improvement in productivity and panel performance against benchmarks, support of cost management initiatives, management of total cost-of-care, and allocations of resources.
  • Staff Workforce: Workforce planning for primary care to optimize area staffing and ensure effective management, including recruitment and retention strategy and execution, engagement, professional and leadership development, and succession planning to support sustainable performance.
  • Revenue Cycle: Provide area oversight of revenue cycle performance to ensure adherence to enterprise-wide processes including clinical documentation quality, coding accuracy, front end processes, and net professional revenue performance.
  • Dyad Partnership: Partnership with the Physician Leader - Primary Care to supporting collaborative decision making that integrates clinical leadership to meet operational and financial performance expectations across assigned areas.
  • Other Duties: Ensure regulatory and organizational compliance; support contract and network initiatives; collaborate with IT and analytics teams to enable operational insight; and perform related leadership responsibilities as assigned.
