Job description

Job Summary

The HIM Analyst will help achieve the organizational and department goals for the management of health informationย which includes supporting the completeness, accuracy,ย integrityย and privacy of the medical record documentationย in a timely mannerย to be readily accessible for patient care.ย The HIM Analyst works closely with administrative,ย quality,ย clinical, and IT staff, including cooperative efforts to develop and sustain quality clinical/medical records to support the integration of HIM technologies.ย ย The Analyst will also ensure compliance with privacy, HIPAA, and other applicable federal, state and county regulationsย pertainingย toย HIM.ย 

Compensation

We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, educationย and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is: $20.27-28.61.ย This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities

  • Analyze andย validateย patientย recordsย for completeness,ย accuracy,ย and compliance with regulatory standards.ย Follow-upย withย appropriate personnelย to ensure records are completed.ย 
  • Provideย exemplaryย customer service for incoming phone and email requests, includingย requests for priority dictations,ย as well as problem-solving forย any issues that cannot be resolved by the outsource company.ย Communicate professionally by phone, email, inย personย and with co-workers.ย 
  • Assistย withย releaseย of information (ROI) requestsย in accordance withย HIPAA and organizational policies.ย 
  • Prepare documents for scanning.ย Scansย andย verifiesย all documents with 98%ย accuracy andย withinย aย definedย timeframe.ย 
  • Responsible for enrolling patients and answering questions regardingย MyHealthย Portal.ย 
  • Provide access to medical record information through internally definedย release of information processes.ย ย This includes scheduling medical record review by outside auditors.ย 
  • Participateย inย external and internal auditsย and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalentย 
  • Strong computer skillsย and ability to learn quicklyย 
  • Problem-solving abilitiesย 
  • Previousย Customer Serviceย 
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environmentย 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Health Information Technologyย Associate Degreeย 
  • RHIA or RHITย certifiedย 
  • Medical terminology and anatomyย knowledgeย 
  • Medical Records experience within an HIM Departmentย ย 

Schedule

  • Full-Time 80hrs/2wks
  • Onsite in Northfield, MN
  • Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
