Job description

The Director of Commercial Operations is responsible for leading and aligning the Sales, Marketing, and Services functions for Rush Computer Rentals across North America. This role will drive revenue growth, optimize customer acquisition and retention, and enhance service delivery performance.

This role also serves as a key driver of new business development and executive-level customer engagement, expanding Rush Computer Rentals’ footprint with new logos and strategic accounts. The Director will represent the company at the senior customer level, positioning integrated solutions that include Device Lifecycle Services and data security offerings.

This leader will develop and execute a cohesive commercial strategy, ensuring strong cross-functional alignment and accountability across all revenue-generating and customer-facing teams. The position requires deep industry expertise in PC hardware, rental and leasing solutions, and experience building strategic OEM partnerships.


Commercial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute an integrated commercial strategy across sales, marketing, and service operations
  • Own revenue growth, margin performance, and overall customer lifecycle outcomes
  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to drive accountability and performance
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, forecasting, and growth initiatives

Inside Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Build, lead, and scale a high performing inside sales organization focused on speed, conversion, and customer experience
  • Implement best practices in pipeline management, lead qualification, and sales enablement
  • Drive growth in rental and leasing solutions, including contract structuring and pricing strategies
  • Improve forecasting accuracy and sales productivity through CRM systems and data-driven insights
  • Collaborate with field sales teams and channel partners as applicable

Marketing & Demand Generation

  • Develop and align integrated marketing strategies to generate high-quality inbound and outbound demand
  • Partner closely with sales leadership to maximize lead conversion and return on marketing investment
  • Support development of digital marketing campaigns, content strategy, and brand positioning
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics to inform strategy

Business Development & Executive Engagement

  • Lead new logo acquisition strategy, targeting high-value customer segments
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships (CIO, CTO, CFO, Procurement) within key accounts
  • Partner with sales teams on strategic deals, including large-scale event opportunities, staffing, Professional Services, MSP and enterprise contracts
  • Represent the company in executive presentations, proposals, and industry events
  • Drive expansion within existing accounts through cross-sell of lifecycle and service-based offerings

Services & Customer Experience

  • Oversee delivery of rental, deployment, and technical support services
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and repeat business
  • Drive operational efficiency, scalability, and continuous process improvement
  • Partner with operations teams to optimize asset utilization, readiness, and turnaround times
  • Expand and commercialize Device Lifecycle Services, including imaging, deployment, asset tracking, refresh, and disposition
  • Integrate data security solutions into service offerings, including data wiping, chain-of-custody, and compliance-driven processes
  • Partner with customers to design end-to-end device lifecycle strategies aligned with security and operational requirements

OEM & Strategic Partnerships

  • Develop and manage relationships with key PC OEM partners (e.g., Dell, HP, Lenovo)
  • Create and implement differentiated partner programs aligned with business growth objectives
  • Align product strategy with OEM roadmaps to maintain competitive offerings
  • Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities to expand capabilities and market reach

People Leadership & Culture

  • Effectively manage exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, and operational standards
  • Utilize ADP Workforce or similar HR systems to manage time and attendance, performance, and employee data accurately and consistently
  • Actively coach and mentor sales, marketing, and service leaders, improving executive communication, deal strategy, and customer engagement effectiveness
  • Develop leadership capability within the organization, ensuring teams can engage effectively at the executive customer level
  • Partner closely with Human Resources on employee relations matters, performance management, hiring, promotions, and terminations
  • Support talent development and succession planning to build organizational capability and bench strength

  • Proven experience in business development and new logo acquisition
  • Experience of engaging with executive-level stakeholders and leading complex, strategic sales cycles
  • Familiarity with Device Lifecycle Services and data security practices within IT asset management or leasing environments
  • 10+ years of experience in the PC, IT hardware, or technology rental/leasing industry
  • Proven success leading inside sales teams with measurable revenue growth and productivity improvements
  • Strong experience in leasing, rental models, or asset-based financing solutions
  • Demonstrated success managing OEM or strategic supplier partnerships
  • Experience overseeing or closely aligning sales, marketing, and service functions
  • Deep understanding of B2B sales processes, CRM systems, and performance analytics
  • Ability to travel (<30%) as needed
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) / Computer proficiency
