Job description

3dB Labs is a growing Defense Contractor focusing on Digital Signal Processing Software and Hardware with a diverse customer base.  We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team as we grow and scale our capabilities. 
As part of the Hardware Engineering team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from across the company to design and support our hardware offerings. The mechanical engineer will be focused on designing cutting edge product innovations, meeting customers’ needs in new offerings, and collaborating with the team to support our dynamic customer requests.
Responsibilities
  • Use computer-aided design systems (SolidWorks) for all mechanical design and development
  • Maintain all engineering documentation related to new designs, modifications, and developments such as drawings, part lists, revision history, etc. and be responsible for distribution of change numbers to the applicable departments
  • Assist with prototype builds and develop build documentation
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain quotes, lead times, and order parts for prototype and production builds
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of customer specific projects or standard system documentation
  • Coordinate with Mechanical Design team and Product Design team to make sure assigned products are meeting all product requirements
  • Alert others on the Products design team when issues are found with requirements
  • Assist with on going Mechanical assisting work as needed, Ex 3D prints for around the building, office building layouts etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks
  • 5-10 years’ experience 
  • Experience in electronic or electrical assemblies
  • Government contracting experience preferred
  • Experience with PDM systems
  • Experience with sheet metal, machined parts, and enclosure design
  • Ability to obtain a US Government clearance
