Job Description:

We are seeking an ambitious hardware engineer to help us design custom circuit technology for software-defined radio applications.ย  As a member of our team, you'll help us build groundbreaking digital and RF circuits for the special operations and intelligence communities to address challenging national security problems and enable planning and decision making in domains as diverse as active threat deterrence, signal intelligence, cyber operations, machine learning, image processing, and applied data analytics.ย  You'll join a multidisciplinary team of engineers who believe in fostering an open, collaborative work environment to solve complex problems.

As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will assist in the development of communications systems through board-level integration of high-speed digital components, commercially available chipsets, and embedded processors. Product Design: Schematic Capture, Simulations, PCB analysis and layout.

Essential Functions:

  • Document your designs from requirements, testing procedures and bill of material.
  • Perform detailed performance and functional measurements and debug at a hardware level.
  • Create custom Circuit Cards, utilizing FPGAs, Embedded Processors, networking components, and other electronic components.
  • Performance characterization of hardware over a wide variety environment condition.
  • Use Industry standard interfaces (e.g. 1GE, 10GE, 40GE, 100GE, SPI, UART, SDRAM, DDR3, DDR4 JESD, PCIe, 1000BASE-T).
  • Support test engineering with transition of hardware to manufacturing testing.
  • Contribute to design review, system integration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Master'sย Degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with CCA and Hardware Design experience.
  • Familiar with lab test equipment.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience with hardware verification, schematic capture, PCB Layout.
  • Experience in laboratory debug techniques using digital scopes, logic analyzers, BERTS, and other complex measurement devices.
  • Experience with Mentor Graphic's tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with code revision management tools such as Git/ClearCase.
  • Familiarity with Confluence or other information sharing tools.
