Digital Hardware Design Engineer Level 2
Location: Rolling Meadows, IL (Onsite)
Work Schedule: 9x80 A | Security Clearance: Active Secret Required
About the Role
Join Indotronix as a Digital Hardware Design Engineer Level 2 and play a pivotal role in the design, development, and testing of advanced electronic systems. Work onsite with a dynamic team at the forefront of defense technology. This opportunity offers significant hands-on experience and the chance to contribute to impactful projects in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, and develop digital hardware for radar, radiation detection, and communication systems.
- Perform simulation, schematic capture, and integration of digital circuits and subsystems.
- Prototype, test, and debug complex digital circuit cards involving FPGAs and embedded processors.
- Translate system-level requirements into hardware specifications and test documentation.
- Lead small project teams, mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers.
- Maintain accurate documentation using revision control systems such as DOORS, ClearCase, or ClearQuest.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related field) with minimum 5 years of digital electronics design, or Master's with 3 years relevant experience.
- Proven expertise in digital circuit design, simulation, schematic capture, and integration.
- Hands-on experience developing and testing circuit cards with FPGAs, embedded processors, or high-speed interfaces.
- Demonstrated ability to lead small technical teams and deliver results.
- Proficient with documentation and revision control platforms (DOORS, ClearCase, ClearQuest).
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced degree with 10+ years of digital hardware design experience.
- Background in Electronic Warfare, Aerospace, or Defense.
- Proficiency in Cadence Concept, Allegro, Mentor Dx Designer, Expedition.
- Familiarity with Xilinx, Altera, Actel, PCB Design, RF, and EO systems.
- Experience in team leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional communication.
- Current Top-Secret Clearance.
