Job description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HSE resource for facility leadership, providing guidance and support on health, safety, and environmental matters. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain practical HSE processes, programs, and initiatives that reduce operational risk. 
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of the EPS Global HSE Management System. 
  • Monitor HSE performance metrics and recommend corrective actions and improvement opportunities. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA 29 CFR 1910 requirements.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and safe systems of work. 
  • Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. 
  • Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs to employees and leadership teams. 
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, communication, and awareness campaigns. 
  • Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives across multiple facility locations as required.

Job Duties

  • Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and implement effective controls. 
  • Develop and maintain health and safety plans, procedures, and safe work practices. 
  • Conduct HSE meetings and communicate performance, goals, and improvement opportunities. 
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements. 
  • Assist with the development of HSE policies and training materials. 
  • Travel as needed to support business operations and training requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related technical field required. 
  • Minimum three (3) years of HSE experience. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulations. 
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems. 
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Must be willing to travel between Youngstown, OH and Bridgeport, WV.  Additional travel may be required at times to attend trainings, meetings, and support business needs.
  • Experience developing HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices. 
  • Strong hazard identification, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Strong communication, training, and collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and work with minimal supervision. 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
