Job description

Title: HSE Coordinator
Office Based Monday - Friday in Anchorage, AK
12 month contract
Description: The HSE Coordinator provides day-to-day health, safety, and environmental support to an onshore exploratory campaign in Alaska from an office setting. The role supports compliance with company HSE management systems, Alaska regulatory requirements, and operator standards, while coordinating closely with project, drilling, construction, and contractor teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Plan for the Project.
  • Prepare and Conduct HAZID & HAZOP for the project.
  • Prepare Project's HSE Preliminary Plan
  • Assist with the preparation of Emergency Preparedness and Response (ERP, OSRP, MERP)
  • Perform Pre-Drill Audits & Inspections.
  • Assess HSE risks associated to the project/Conduct Risk Assessment Workshops
  • Ensure the development of environmental studies required and interact with regulatory agencies
  • Understand and monitor permitting process for the project
  • Support in the identification of stakeholders and preparation of stakeholders' management plan
  • Develop and implement HSE procedures and deliverables required for the project
  • Coordinate bridging documents with contractors on HSE issues
  • Conduct audits to Wells and services contractors. Ensure implementation of corrective actions
  • Perform HSE evaluation of contractors during tender processes, define HSE requirements in contracts
  • Monitor contractor compliance with standards and requirements
  • Prepare and implement emergency response plans required for the project
  • Coordinate emergency drills
  • Lead & Coordinate incident investigations
  • Develop lessons learned from incidents and communicate external lessons learned to project stakeholders (Issue One-pager Flash Reports)
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other Alaska Safety requirements
  • Implement preventive observations program and analyse the trends and define corrective actions
  • Hold HSE meetings
  • Prepare HSE reports
  • Supervise HSE personnel at site
  • Review JSA, PTW and Safety Obseervations. Assess any mitigation, corrections.
  • Track Leading and lagging Project KPIs.
  • Prepare HSE End of Well report with the project Safety KPI's and overall performance.

Required Skills:
  • Computer skills - Advanced user in Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Good planning and organizational skills

  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to support the business.
  • Knowledge of local Alaska HSE rules and regulationsHighly focussed on HSE and Process Safety at all times.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience as HSE Coordinator in Wells Projects
  • Relevant previous as HSE Coordinator in Alaska and the North Slope

Education and Qualifications
  • University Degree in Science or Engineering (Wells, Industrial, Chemical, Safety or Environmental Engineering) with specialization in QHSE
  • Proficient in HSEQ Management Systems ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001
  • Possess certification in NEBOSH or equivalent
  • Possess certification of WCI L1 and Drops Train the Trainer
  • Certification in Incident investigation techniques (i.e., Tripod Beta, Tap roots etc)
  • Need to comply with Fit to Work requirements for working in remote areas
  • Excellent written and oral command of the English language (mandatory).
  • Spanish verbal and written communication skills (optional)
