HSE Specialist

Pay Rate

$51,000 to $68,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform: 

  • Entry-level HSE Specialist. Responsible for administrative tasks supporting the HSE department requiring strong computer skills in the Microsoft suite of products. 
  • Supports mill safety efforts including facilitating training, coordinating emergency drills/training, being a safety advocate for/with mill employees, contractors and guests, and being an active participant on mill safety teams. 
  • Conducts annual hearing tests (prefer CAOHC Certification).  Must be willing to be certified. 
  • Maintains emergency response equipment (AES, First Aid cabinets, spill kits, etc.)
  • Be on call one weekend per month and at other times as needed. 

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring: 

  1. High School Diploma required.
  2. Willingness to spend 1-2 hours per day in a manufacturing facility (paper mill) which can be hot, cold, loud, dirty. 
  3. Willingness to learn our safety process and be a safety advocate for/with mill employees, contractors and guests. 
  4. Expertise using Windows based software programs such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint or comparable software program.
  5. Strong problem-solving, and organizational skills are required.
  6. Excellent verbal, written, and people skills are required.
  7. Preferred 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or like environment.
