Job description

As anHSE Specialist, you will be responsible for Health, Safety, and Environmental concerns at multiple locations.  This position will require a person who is able to work in the field at rig locations as well as assist facility management in maintaining the NOV HSE 360 Management System. This role requires close collaboration with facility personnel and management to maintain compliance with federal regulations and company/third-party HSE policies. 

Work Location: 2124 Maurice Rd, Odessa, TX 79763

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee incident investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and follow-up to ensure timely closure of Corrective Actions. 
  • Provide HSE training to facility personnel, including management. 
  • Assist operations with the Management of Change (MOC) procedure/process. 
  • Actively participates in frequent facility HSE walkthroughs, reviews, and audits. 
  • Conduct inspections of field operations at rig locations. 
  • Provide timely and effective liaison with all site personnel to review and address all aspects of matters related to company HSE principals. 
  • Act as an advisor and resource to facility management for HSE matters. 
  • Liaise with facility management to ensure effective communication on all open action items. 
  • Conduct hazard-risk analysis. 
  • Maintain recordkeeping and document control requirements as outlined in NOV HSE 360 Management system. 
  • Work closely with facility operations personnel to ensure maintenance of the NOV HSE  360 Management System (policies, procedures, and actions). 
  • Assist with updating the local facility's HSE Management System. 
  • Assist the business unit and local facilities to achieve annual HSE Objectives and targets. 
  • Conduct monthly HSE inspections at NOV facilities and drilling rig locations. 
  • Assist with conducting Internal Audits as per NOV HSE procedures. 
  • Present audit Findings and recommending to the local or Area Management. 

Qualifications: 

  • At least 5 years of working experience in the related field of oil and gas industry. 
  • Auditing experience as per HSE Management Systems. 
  • Trainer experience. 
  • Experience implementing and maintaining a HSE Management System.  
  • Safety and environmental training courses are required.
  • Related experience is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees including shop floor employees, lead people, supervisors, and managers.

  • Computer Skills (Microsoft, Excel, Power Point & Internet).
  • Ability to work alone and with team.
