Job description

The newest and premier Dog Daycare and Boarding facility is now hiring in Lakeville! Puppy Play and Stay seeks Guest Services Pros to join our dedicated team of pet lovers. We offer open play spaces for dogs to “play like a puppy” on our Fun FURniture, take a snooze on our cots or enjoy the sunshine in our outdoor area. Guest Services Pros need to be dog-savvy, organized, confident, and friendly in this fast-paced environment.

Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience with caring for pets in a boarding & day care environment. This position will require the ability to juggle a variety of responsibilities, with a strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

It takes a team to make it all happen, but we work together and are passionate about what we do!

Job Type: Full-time and Part-Time

Hourly pay from $14-$16/hour plus tips. Depending on experience.

Requirements:

Minimum Experience, Skills, Certification or Academic Background Required:

1. High school graduate or GED required.

2. Minimum of 1 year previous experience in the Animal Care Industry or other relevant experience required.

3.1-2 years of customer service experience preferred.

4. Excellent oral & written communication skills

5. Strong math skills & selling skills preferred

6. Previous work experience demonstrating dependability

Primary Duties

1. Customer Service

a. Our priority is serving the clients that are in our facility by greeting everyone who enters and offering assistance.

b. Show appreciation to our clients for visiting and encourage them to use our services.

c. Explain our focus on pup wellness and quality care provided in all our services.

d. Utilize friendly sales techniques to upsell clients on additional services and products that will benefit their pups.

e. Work with dissatisfied clients in an effort to resolve issues to retain clients.

f. Give tours of the facility to potential customers and answer questions regarding our services, policies and procedures. Explain our focus on pup activities, wellness and quality care provided in all our services.

g. Coordinate with staff when opening or closing to ensure proper pup care and client communication for early drop-offs & late pick-ups.

2. Reservations & Invoice Processing

a. Receive payments and process invoices.

b. Keep familiar with management approved payment exceptions and client prepayments/credits and keep accurate records for all.

c. Balance cash till daily.

3. Check-in Processing

a. Check in pups as they arrive.

b. Groom Shop Services – confirm pick-up time & phone call if we are to call when ready.

c. Self-Wash Dog Wash – instruct clients on Self-Wash services and assist in getting clients started. Monitor self-wash clients and assist when needed.

4. Processing Enrollment Paperwork & Expired Vaccinations.

a. Processing enrollment paperwork accurately & timely

b. Monitoring, following-up and documenting pup vaccinations.

5. Retail Inventory

a. Assist clients in sale of retail inventory.

b. Restock items from storage as needed.

c. Keep inventory stock clean, neat and pulled to the front of shelving.

Other Job Duties

a. Print copies of daily reports for all service areas.

b. File paperwork in company and client files as outlined.

c. Print administrative forms as needed for Guest Services.

d. Maintenance client mailing lists as needed ensuring that deactivated clients do not receive communications from Puppy Play and Stay.

e. Restock flyers, business cards, magnets as needed.

f. Restock samples and treats as needed.

g. Make client reminder calls.
