About Us

PineTree Recovery Center is an inpatient treatment center in Portland, Maine offering intensive outpatient (IOP) services for individuals working toward recovery from substance use. We are part of Guardian Recovery with partner facilities in the Greater Portland area, including Southern Maine Recovery. We specialize in treating substance use and co-occurring disorders. Our mission is to provide treatments and strategies that foster long-term recovery. We are dedicated to our mission and are looking for several overnight Behavioral Health Technician staffers to join our team!

Your Role

The purpose of the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is to provide support to clients living in, transitioning to, and being admitted to our residential program. The BHT position provides non-clinical, evidenced-based support services by performing tasks designed to assist clients in wellness and recovery to promote self-advocacy and assist the client in achieving and maintaining rehabilitative, sobriety, and recovery goals.

This are full-time positions at 40 hours a week with a full benefits package. Pay for this position ranges from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour depending on experience.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Candidates ideally have professional experience or informal personal experience in supporting individuals in substance use recovery, but this is not required.
  • The ability to pass a background check and drug test is required.
  • Completed GED or Highschool Diploma is required. Additional education or certifications related mental health is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide direct care and support to individuals undergoing mental health and substance abuse treatment. Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of licensed professionals.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations by implementing appropriate interventions and de-escalation techniques. Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, progress, and treatment interventions. Communicate effectively with the treatment team regarding patient needs and progress.
  • Client Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and well-being of individuals receiving treatment. Collaborate with individuals to develop and achieve personal goals.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work collaboratively with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.

Weekly Hours: 40 hours a week, which must includes at least one weekend shift.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
